Fedotov and Zharinov (2007) present results from leveling surveys at Klyuchevskoy. A geodetic network was established on the northeastern flank and includes triangulation stations and leveling lines. The benchmarks were installed on the Kirgurich leveling line in 1978, and the first leveling was carried out in 1979. The leveling between 1979 and 1989 was conducted from the initial benchmark situated at a distance of 31 km from the volcano crater. The authors conducted repeated surveys in 2001-2005 and show “considerable changes in vertical elevation were detected before the Predskazannyi Eruption between March 6 and June 28, 1983, as well as in 2001 to 2005”. |
